Our Mission

RI Latino Dollars for Scholars, Inc. (LADO) is a private non-profit organization founded in 1993. Our mission is to expand higher education for Latino students living in Rhode Island by involving and assisting the private sector in the support of these students. LADO also provides encouragement for higher levels of achievement among Latino students. Our goals are to increase Latino representation at the post secondary level and to provide the community with academic and professional role models.
Our Board of Directors, Board Members and Scholarship Selection Committee are members of the Rhode Island community who personify our mission of supporting Latino students in their pursuit of higher education.
Our Philosophy
LADO operates under a philosophy that rewards individual effort, leadership and achievement. As a result, Latinos foster a sense of responsibility and commitment for meeting our community's educational need for prosperity and continued upward mobility.
